Support Charlie’s Challenge

Local Peterborough resident Charlie Edwards will be fundraising by trekking Ben Nevis.

We are delighted that local Peterborough resident Charlie Edwards has chosen to raise funds for YPCS by taking on the challenge to trek Ben Nevis on 10th September and wish her well in this tough personal challenge.
 
Charlie has direct experience of a close family member suffering with poor mental health and so knows at first hand the impact this has on those that suffer, as well as the effect this can have on their families.
 
As the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week this year was nature, Charlie has chosen her challenge to trek Ben Nevis to link her fundraising efforts with this theme.
Charlie told us, “I think it’s fitting with how the past 18 months have been with lockdowns and restrictions – finding ways to get outside to benefit our mental health. I have set myself the challenge to climb Ben Nevis in the hope to connect to nature and raise money for charity.”
 

YPCS Chair Authors Book Chapter

Our Chair Alison Graham has authored a chapter in the upcoming book ‘Resilient Voices’. In this book, publisher and anthologist Brenda Dempsey brings together 45 voices to share their true stories of resilience, positivity and hope from a pandemic.

In ‘Resilient Voices,’ publisher and anthologist Brenda Dempsey brings together 45 voices to share their true stories of resilience, positivity and hope from a pandemic.
 
Sharing their experiences of surviving through a pandemic, and other stressful situations life throws at us, the 45 Voices come from all walks of life – from doctors and nurses, to parents and business owners – raising their voices and sharing their real-life inspirational stories, to show their bouncebackability and resilience.
 
Each of the contributors are New-Found Heroes in their own way, baring their souls and finding the courage to allow themselves to be vulnerable, in a pandemic that in many ways unites us.
 
All profits of Resilient Voices will be donated to the NHS in gratitude for their commitment, dedication and going beyond the duty of their role to support, help and protect lives.

Prints of Patron’s Artwork Available!

Our talented patron Annabelle Davis kindly donated a set of original oil paintings with the theme ‘under the sea’ to decorate the Annabelle Davis Centre.

Prints of these stunning works are now available for purchase at annabelledavis.co.uk.

To help support the work of YPCS and the Annabelle Davis Centre, £1 from the sale of each print will be donated to the charity. 

 

 

Patron Donates Artwork

Our patron Annabelle Davis has generously donated some of her stunning artwork to display in the Annabelle Davis Centre. These paintings have an underwater theme inspired by the Centre’s lighthouse logo.

Limited edition prints of these paintings are available for purchase. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to YPCS to help us continue supporting local young people. If you would like to purchase one of these beautiful prints, please email events@ypcs.uk.

Patrons Meet Young Fundraiser

Our patrons Warwick and Annabelle Davis met with fundraising superstar Leo.
 
Eight year old Leo raised an amazing £620 for YPCS by cycling 20 miles in 7 days, smashing his original target amount! This will fund a full twelve sessions of counselling for a young person in need. We are all so proud and grateful.

Charity Champions Conquer the Coals

The Stilton Firewalk results are in and what a spectacular night it was!

Thank you to our firewalkers, YPCS volunteers, YPCS trustees, sponsors, raffle donors, Young Technicians CIC, Kayleigh Stephens and Yaxley Youth Club, the The Talbot Inn, Stilton, Kitty Devereux, Tim Alban District Councillor, Shelley Jude, Tony Chard, Clark Howe, Howsafe and everyone else who supported the event.

You helped us raised £5761.71 to support young people!

Runners Brave Torrential Rain to Run the GER for YPCS

On Sunday, 14th October 2017 YPCS formed its first every running team to run the Perkins Great Eastern Half Marathon & 5km Fun Run. The weather was torrential rain for the entire event but despite the challenging conditions, everyone completed their run.

Supported by Equiniti Plc, who provided the running shirts, the team has already raised over £5,000 which is an incredible amount that allows YPCS to counsel another 13 young people during 2018.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part in the event & to Equiniti Plc for their support.

Rotary raises £1000 for YPCS

The Whittlesey Rotary were able to handover a cheque for £1000 to Mrs Nicky Baker, a trustee for the local Charity. The money was raised through a beer festival organised and supported by the group in the town earlier in the year.

At the meeting held at the Falcon on in August, Mrs Baker was able to share information about the charities accomplishments over the last 18 months and also discuss some of the main issues that some of our young people, looking for help, struggle with.
The group showed increased concern over the long waiting lists and expressed an interest in supporting the charity in the future.
